Decouple speakers - that's how it's done
A floorstanding speaker should not be placed directly on the floor. If you decouple the speaker, the floor will no longer vibrate. You can read how to do this in this practical tip.
Decouple speakers - that's how it's done
If the carpet is laid on screed, connecting the loudspeakers is a good solution since the surface is low-vibration. Smooth floors such as wood or laminate, however, reduce the sound pleasure due to their tendency to reverberate. Decoupling is recommended here.
- Special rubber dampers are best suited for decoupling loudspeakers. These convert the vibrational energy into heat - nothing vibrates anymore.
- You can also decouple your loudspeakers using so-called box spikes. Although these are actually used for coupling, they are decoupled if you simply turn the spikes over. The flat side should no longer stand on the ground. The boxes are then on the tips of the spikes. However, this method is more suitable for HIFI furniture than for boxes themselves.
