Insert spaces between numbers in Excel
If you use longer numbers in Excel, you can provide a clear overview by spacing the numbers. We show you how you can set this individually.
How to insert spaces between numbers in Excel
- Select all cells where you want to insert a space between the numbers. You can do this for individual cells by clicking on them while holding down the [Ctrl] key. Of course, you can also select entire rows or columns (with the [Shift] key).
- With a right click on the selected cells you can select "Format cells" from the context menu. This opens a window in which you can make various settings (see picture).
- In the "Numbers" menu, you now have to click on the "User-defined" category and you can type in a so-called "Type". For example, for spaces between three numbers "xxx xxx xxx xxx" or between two numbers "xx xx xx xx". You can use this pattern to create any number bundle and thus the spaces.
