Unfortunately, we are currently unable to complete your purchase: Help with PayPal
If the error message "Unfortunately we are currently unable to complete your purchase" appears on PayPal, there are several ways to solve the problem. We'll show you how to do it best.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to complete your purchase - solutions to the PayPal problem
If you have never used PayPal direct debit or have not used it for a long period of time, you may encounter the error "Unfortunately we are currently unable to complete your purchase". The solution is usually relatively simple: Confirm your account details again.
- To do this, log in to PayPal. Select the linked bank account from the "E-Börse" tab.
- Now click on "Show direct debit agreement".
- In the following window click on "Delete agreement". A request appears, which you have to confirm.
- You will now be forwarded to your bank. Here, click on "Complete the direct debit agreement" and then on "Accept". This is how your SEPA mandate is updated. This should resolve the error message.
If the PayPal error persists: add credit card or fill account
The error message also occurs in part because PayPal requires a credit card as the payment method for various payments. The reason for the report can be that the seller has PayPal, but does not accept payment by direct debit.
- In this case, add a credit card as the payment method on PayPal.
- Alternatively, you can top up your PayPal account with the requested amount.
PayPal trick: change device, browser and password
If you have not succeeded in the measures mentioned, there is a possibility that the reason for the problem lies in your browser or cookies:
- Therefore, use a different Internet browser for the PayPal payment concerned. In the best case scenario, take another device, such as a laptop instead of a cell phone.
- If your password is very old, PayPal's security standards can prevent payment. In this case, you should change your PayPal password.
- If none of the measures remedies the problem, it is best to contact PayPal customer service (see video).
