Learning for the driving school: the best apps and programs
There are many methods of learning for the driving school. Unless you are a fan of books, there is no way around apps and programs these days. We'll show you the best alternatives for effective learning so that you can find your way around the mass of offers.
Learn on the go - just like in a driving school
You can certainly learn for free on your computer at your driving school, but that is not too convenient. So that you can work on your knowledge while waiting for the train or the doctor, you can use free apps on your smartphone.
- With the auto-app from büffeln.net, the entire official questionnaire is available on your smartphone at any time. By dividing it into eight categories, you can learn each topic individually. However, if you would like to have an exam simulation, you currently have to pay 1.99 euros for the exam mode. You can download it from CHIP here.
- If you have no problem with advertising, "iTheory" is also a good alternative to learning. In addition to the catalog of questions, you will also receive a realistic examination mode here - and all of this free of charge here at CHIP.
Driving school feeling when learning on the home PC
For best preparation for the theoretical exam, you shouldn't rely solely on apps. Because: In the exam you will sit in front of a PC. To practice this situation, you can of course sit down in your driving school. But you don't have to if you have good educational software at home.
- The non-plus-ultra is here with a "PC driving school" a fee-based program. For currently 25 euros you can get an all-round package for all license categories with all the functions you could possibly want. Here you can download the test version from CHIP.
- As with the apps, the following also applies here: If you have no problem with advertising, you can also get good learning software for the driving school free of charge. With the freeware "driving license help" you save a lot of money and still receive the official questionnaire including exam simulation. You can download it from CHIP here.
- You may even learn without advertising and for free. You can do this with the trial version of "Driver License Agent", which you can use ten times for twenty minutes each, before 18 euros are due for the full version. It would be conceivable, for example, to only use the exam simulation on the PC while you use the driving school or the free smartphone apps to learn. You can get the test version here at CHIP.
After a hopefully successful theoretical exam, the preparation for the practical exam begins. In addition to the driving school, you can also learn on your home PC. We'll show you how in our next practical tip.
