LG G Flex 2 vs. LG G3 - the smartphone comparison
LG G Flex 2 vs. LG G3: These are the current Android flagships from the manufacturer LG. This practical tip will tell you where the most important differences between the two models are and which one is ahead.
LG Flex 2 and LG G3 - similarities between the two top models
The LG G3 has a lot in common with the somewhat younger G Flex 2 model. Both devices play in the high-end segment of the current smartphone market and can boast modern technology:
- Both displays are 5.5 inches tall. Surfing and watching videos is very comfortable with this size, but the devices are difficult to operate with one hand. However, thanks to its curved shape, the G Flex 2 feels better in the hand.
- You can take photos with 13 megapixels on the main camera and 2.1 megapixels on the front camera. The maximum video resolution is pretty decent with 3840 x 2160 pixels each. The LG G3 has a clear advantage in terms of the maximum frame rate: at 60 FPS, this is twice as high as that of the LG G Flex 2. If you would like to record slow motion with your mobile phone or top videos, you should pay attention to this difference.
- Both phones are now delivered with the current Android 5 "Lollipop". LG puts its own surface "LG UI" over it.
- On both models you can remove the back cover and insert a micro SIM and SD memory card underneath. There is also the 3000 mAh battery, which can only be replaced with the G3.
G3 and G Flex 2 - here are the differences between LG phones
- An important difference lies primarily in the design of the two models. While the Flex 2 comes across as extravagant with its curved shape and the colors silver and red, the G3 looks rather sober. Here, of course, personal preference decides.
- The displays are the same size, but differ in important points: While the older G3 with grandiose 2560x1440 pixels resolves on an IPS display, you can only see content on the Flex in Full HD - but with better contrast values ( AMOLED display).
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon model works as a processor in both housings: in the G3 the 801 version, in the G Flex 2 the brand new 810.
- There is more RAM in the older G3: 3 GB instead of just 2 GB in the Flex.
- The internal storage of the LG G3 is either 16 or 32 GB. The LG G Flex 2 has 16 GB as standard.
- The G3 is clearly ahead in terms of price: You can get this for around 380 euros without a contract. The G Flex 2 is currently priced at around 530 euros.
Conclusion: personal preference decides
Both LG phones are extremely high in terms of technology. Finding a clear winner is difficult because the G3 and the G Flex 2 perform differently in individual sub-categories.
- The slightly older G3 has more RAM and internal memory, and the new G Flex 2 has a brand new processor and a higher-contrast display.
- If you are careful not to spend too much money on your smartphone, you should probably choose the G3. Thanks to the slightly older age, the price is significantly lower.
