Install Libre Office Extensions - Here's how
Extensions allow you to add useful functions to Libre Office. How to install these plugins.
Install extensions via the Extension Manager in Libre Office
Libre Office has an extension manager. With this you can manage all installed addons or add new extensions. And this is how it works:
- In the Libre Office menu bar, click on "Tools" (third entry from the right) and select "Extension Manager" (fifth entry from below).
- In the Extension Manager, click on "Download more extensions from the Internet ..." (bottom left in blue letters). You will be redirected to the Libre Office Extensions page. Here you can browse all available extensions.
- To install extensions, you must first download them. Click the extension you want to download. Here click on "Download [extension name] for All platforms" and save it in any directory.
- Switch back to Libre Office. The Extension Manager should normally still be open. If not, open it again.
- In the Extension Manager, click on "Add" (bottom center). Navigate to the directory where you saved the extension. Select the extension and click on "Open" at the bottom right.
- At the bottom right of the Extension Manager you will get a message that the extension is being added (installed). This usually takes a few seconds.
- As soon as the extension has been installed, you can use it.
