LibreOffice: create calendar - how it works
With LibreOffice you can easily create an individual calendar. The best way to create the calendar is with the Calc spreadsheet of the Office package.
Create an annual calendar with LibreOffice
In order to have a rough overview of the dates, the one-page annual calendar is ideal. All important dates are recorded on a worksheet.
- Start Calc and enter the month name January in cell B1 of the table.
- Click on cell B1 and move the mouse to the small square in the lower right corner. As soon as the mouse pointer changes into a crosshair, press the left mouse button and drag the mouse horizontally to the right until you reach the month of December.
- Do the same for the current date. Enter the number 1 in cell A2 and drag the mouse down until the number 31 is entered in cell A32.
- Finally, place the month names and the date in the middle. You can also format the month name and date in "bold" and enlarge the font.
LibreOffice: Prepare calendar worksheet
If you want to enter several appointments a day, you need a somewhat more extensive calendar. This does more work, but can be easily implemented in LibreOffice.
- With the appointment calendar, you not only use one worksheet, but the entire workbook.
- Use a separate worksheet for each month.
- The date and day of the week are shown in the header and the time on the side.
- Enter the number 1 in cell B1 and then move the mouse horizontally - as already described above - until you have reached number 31.
- Click on column A and press the right mouse button. In the context menu, choose "Format cells".
- In the "Format cells" menu, select the "Numbers" tab. Under "Category" select "Time" and then under "Format" decide how you want the time to be displayed. The format HH: MM is ideal for an appointment calendar. Remember to confirm your selection with "OK".
- Then write in cell A3 the time from which you usually have appointments. In our example, we choose 8:00 a.m. The interval should be 30 minutes, so write in cell A4 08:30. Select the two cells and drag the mouse down until you have reached 10:00 p.m.
- Finally, format the header and page rows "bold" and place the information in the middle.
LibreOffice: Edit individual calendar months
- Right-click "Table 1" in the footer of the Calc workbook.
- Select "Move / copy table" in the context menu and activate the "Copy" option under "Action" in the corresponding menu. Then, under "Insert before", decide for "put to the end". Now enter the name of the respective month under "New Name".
- After you have created all months, click on January.
- Enter the first day of the month in cell B2. Then click on the cell and drag the mouse to the right until the end of each month.
- Tip: If you look at the calendar on which day the month starts, you can also check how many days the month has and correct the worksheet if necessary.
