LibreOffice: Write across - that's how it works
If you want to write your text across in LibreOffice, this does not work with the normal text input. Here we show you what to consider.
How to write text across LibreOffice
The easiest way to configure cross text in LibreOffice is to use "Format". To do this, proceed as follows:
- Select the text that you want to appear vertically.
- Then select "Format" at the top of the list.
- Click on the "Characters ..." entry. A new window will open.
- In the newly opened window, select the "Position" tab.
- Under "Rotation" you can rotate the text (90 degrees) to write across. The "Fit to line" option adjusts the vertical font to the sheet width.
Option 2: Writing texts with turning across
To write both horizontal and vertical text on a page, do the following:
- Click on "View", then "Toolbars" and finally the item "Drawing". Now you have a new bar under your text field.
- Click on the "Text" symbol and then drag a field in the document where you want the vertical text to appear later.
- Now write your text in the field.
- Now click on the frame of the text field. The frame now turns into a view with points that you can use to scale the field.
- Click the Rotate icon above the text area. The dots around the text field turn red. Drive over a corner of the field, click on it and move the mouse. Now the field turns as desired.
