LibreOffice: Change the interface language - how it works
Changing the language of the LibreOffice interface is relatively easy. Please note in advance that you select the required language packs during installation and install them accordingly. You can find out how to do this in this practical tip.
The installation of the LibreOffice language packs for Windows
- First you have to install the desired language packages. If you don't have the latest version of LibreOffice, you can download it from us.
- Now decide on a user-defined setup and then select the languages you need later under "Program components".
- If you have already installed LibreOffice and did not install the languages that you would like for the user interface, call the installation program again.
- Under "Program maintenance", select the first option "Change".
- Then decide on the menu item "Additional languages for the user interface" and finally look for the language packs that you would like to install.
Change the language of the Libre Office user interface
After you have installed the appropriate language packs, you can now change the language of your user interface.
- First call the menu item "Extra" and decide in the dropdown menu for the "Options".
- From the "Options" menu under "Language Settings", select "Languages".
- Then go to the "Language for" section and select the desired language for your interface under "User interface".
- Finally confirm your choice with "OK".
