Lidl: Buy a train ticket - click here
With the Lidl train ticket you travel twice across Germany for less than 50 euros. In this article we reveal where you can buy the ticket and whether the top offer has any catch.
Buy and redeem the train ticket from Lidl - how it works
In the week from October 4, 2016 to October 8, 2016, you will receive a DB ticket flyer in every Lidl branch. For 49.90 euros there are two journeys within Germany with the long-distance trains of the Deutsche Bahn. However, the offer is only valid while stocks last - as the past few years have shown, it is important to be quick here. If you are interested, it is best to buy a ticket directly on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016.
- To do this, go to the checkout with the DB ticket flyer in your Lidl.
- There the EAN code is scanned on the back and you pay the purchase price of 49.90 euros.
- You will then receive a printed receipt that represents your ticket. Be sure to keep it.
- There are two codes on the ticket. You can redeem them on the train website for two journeys of your choice.
- To do this, click on "Redeem booking code" and enter one of the codes in the "Access code" field.
- Then select your desired travel connection and book it.
- Finally, print out your online ticket and go on your booked train journey.

Lidl: The conditions of the train ticket
The price of less than 50 euros for any two trips through Germany is really cheap. So there are some small limitations. You should definitely know them before buying.
- Redemption period: You can only redeem your Lidl train codes online from 04.10.2016 to 18.12.2016. If you would like to book a trip in the period from December 11th, 2016 to December 18th, 2016, this is possible from October 18th, 2016 at the earliest.
- Travel period: Your trip must take place from 10/10/2016 to 12/18/2016. You can choose any trip when booking. Only trains on Fridays are excluded.
- Train connection: When booking, you determine your travel route and the desired travel day. You will then receive a train ticket without a train ticket. This means that you can use every train on your route until 10 a.m. on the day of travel and the following day.
- Trains: When choosing your trains, you must note that the Lidl ticket is only valid for ICE, IC, EC trains of DB Fernverkehr AG. Local trains (e.g. RE, RB, IRE and S-Bahn) and non-federally owned railways (NE) are not included in the offer. If you would also like to use these trains, there is an extra charge of 5 euros per trip.
- Family ticket: If you want to take your children with you on the trip, that's no problem. Children up to and including 5 years of age generally travel free of charge. Children up to and including the age of 14 also travel free of charge if they are registered when booking and travel with their parents or grandparents.
You can also make substantial savings outside of the Lidl campaign. Vouchers for Deutsche Bahn are available on our voucher portal. If you cannot start your booked train journey, your train ticket can be rebooked.
