Lightworks: Create stop motion video
Stop motion videos are compiled from individual images. This article shows you how to create this film technique in Lightworks.
Instructions: Create stop motion video with Lightworks
- Create project: At the beginning you have to create a new project. The frame rate of 24 frames per second (fps) is a good choice for a smooth display of the video. You can also set the repetition frequency to automatic.
- Import images: With Lightworks you can automatically recognize an image sequence. Prerequisite is a consecutive numbering of the pictures (1, 2, 3 ...). To do this, click on Settings next to the "X" in the Import Manager and activate the "Detect image-sequences" menu item. This automatically combines the images into a clip. You can also import single images.
- Create Edit: After you have imported your images, they will be inserted into a set. Create a new edit in the "Tools" toolbar. Next, drag your pictures into the timeline. Under "Advcanced" you can reduce the speed. At 24 fps, however, you should not choose a value that is too low.
