Use LinkedIn job boards effectively - the best tips
We give you tips on how to use LinkedIn effectively as a job exchange.
1. LinkedIn tip: Fill out the profile completely
- Your LinkedIn profile should be completed. Include a serious picture of yourself - party photos are less suitable.
- Please indicate your previous professional career. Internships or voluntary work are also of interest.
- With your knowledge, you should provide honest information. With a summary, you also help future employers to get a quick impression of you. For this reason, attach particular importance to the summary.
2. LinkedIn tip: use groups
- To draw attention to yourself, you should use the LinkedIn groups. To do this, first click on "Interests" in the upper bar and then on "Groups".
- Now search for groups on your favorite topic, for example "web development" or "blogging".
- Join groups, post your own articles or comment on others' posts. So you will quickly get additional profile visitors and increase your reach. You can also demonstrate expertise on a specific topic.
LinkedIn tip: the job market
- On the job market you will find current offers and can offer your skills. To do this, click on "Job market" in the top bar and enter your desired career in the search.
- Once you have started the search, you will see various filter options on the left. Use this to narrow down the offers.
- Click on a job offer that interests you. You will often be redirected to the appropriate company page.
- In the application, feel free to state that you found the company on LinkedIn. A committed employer will look for and notice you there if your profile looks promising and you actively participate in group discussions.
