For security, you should update your Linux Fedora system. Read this practical tip to find out exactly how to do this.
Update Linux Fedora - so it'll work
- First open the file "/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo" and adjust the content as follows: "[fedora] name = Fedora $ releasever - $ basearch baseurl = ftp: //installc1.rz. rwth-aachen.de/export/redhat/fedora-$releasever/$basearch/cd1/ enabled = 1 gpgcheck = 1 gpgkey = file: /// etc / pki / rpm-gpg / RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora- $ basearch ". This determines where the installation packages can be found.
- In the next step you have to adapt the file "/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo" as follows: "[updates] name = Fedora $ releasever - $ basearch - Updates baseurl = ftp: //installc1.rz .rwth-aachen.de / export / redhat / updates / fedora- $ releasever / $ basearch / enabled = 1 gpgcheck = 0 gpgkey = file: /// etc / pki / rpm-gpg / RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora- $ basearch ". The update packages are defined here.
- For security reasons, some packages should be excluded from the automatic update. To do this, open the "/etc/yum.conf" file and insert "exclude = kernel, glibc" there.
- Now switch to the SSH connection and log in as administrator.
- Then enter the command "yum update --disableexcludes = all" to perform an update.
- Wait for the process to complete, then restart the system.
