Lipsticks in the test: winner of the Öko-Test
Öko-Test tested 22 red lipsticks. A total of five winners emerged from the test, which were unreservedly rated "very good". Two other products also received top marks, albeit with restrictions. However, more than half of the beauty products failed the test with "insufficient". We present you the tops and flops.
Test: lipsticks at Öko-Test
Lipstick is part of the basic equipment in every woman's make-up bag. Since you always eat a little lipstick when you eat and drink, you should know which ingredients make your lips so seductive.
- Of the 22 lipsticks tested, seven products received the top grade "very good". With a price of 2.95 euros, the "Terra Naturi Lipstick, Raspberry 13" was the cheapest among the winners.
- Only a little more expensive, with a price of 2.99 euros, the "Alterra lipstick, Tulip 14" was only just behind the number one.
- It was tested whether the make-up contains petroleum-based fats (paraffins). In addition, the beauty products were tested for clearly unhealthy or at least questionable ingredients. Striking: Most lipsticks contain perfume - but this was not rated negatively.

Lipsticks: Natural cosmetics convince in the test
According to the Öko-Test, almost only make-up from the natural cosmetic corner was convincing. A total of seven lipsticks were rated "very good".
- The "Alverde Color & Care Lipstick, Dusty Pink 05" is also free of mineral oil and other questionable ingredients - and with a price of EUR 3.45 it is only slightly more expensive than the two first places.
- The "Dr. Hauschka Lipstick, Camellia 03" and the "Sante Lipstick No. 02" received a small minus point because the lipstick is unnecessarily packed in a cardboard box. However, that did not change the "very good" grade.

Lipsticks at Öko-Test: More flops than tops
More than half of the lipsticks tested were rated "insufficient" by Öko-Test. The most common reasons:
- MOSH (saturated hydrocarbons) was detected as an additive in 11 lipsticks. These ingredients are deposited in the organs. The consequences for health have not yet been proven.
- Aromatic mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOAH) are even more of a concern than MOSH. Even in small quantities, these substances are considered carcinogenic. Nine of the 22 beauty products tested contain MOAH.
- Oligomeric saturated hydrocarbons from polyolefins (POSH) were also found in eleven lipsticks. Studies on the health assessment of these substances are still pending.
- Öko-Test punished, for example, the "L'Oréal Color Riche Intense, Sparkling Amethyst 287" for 9.95 euros. It loads your lips with MOSH, MOAH, POSH and the questionable ingredients methyl 2-octynoate, hydroxycitronellal and geraniol. The product also contains organohalogen compounds, tartrazine and silicones.
