Lords of the Fallen: The best tips for beginners
Lords of the Fallen has a reputation for being a challenging game. We'll give you the best tips on how to find your way around the game as a beginner.
Gameplay - you should practice these techniques
Lords of the Fallen is a game that encourages you to internalize controls and continuously improve your movements in the game world. You can train yourself the following tips and tricks.
- Try to pay close attention to the attack and movement pattern of every enemy you encounter. This is essential, especially for boss monsters. As soon as you know what actions you can expect from an opponent, you can develop appropriate strategies. Don't defeat an opponent the first time, try to learn from your mistakes.
- Never neglect your cover! Use your shield in the beginning. A blocked attack will remove part of your endurance track, but it will not affect your precious life points.
- Dodge! If you know the opponent's movements and know which attacks he is carrying out and when, you can proceed to evade the attacks. The role that your character can perform is available to you. Note that it is usually better to roll into an attack. Don't be afraid to take an attack. With the correct adjustment of the roll you will not suffer any damage. If you roll away before the attack, you may be in a bad position with your opponent and they will hit you perfectly. On the other hand, roll into the attack, shorten the distance to the opponent and go over to melee.
- Potions are one of the most important resources in Lords of the Fallen. With the small bottles you restore part of your vitality and can continue the fight. Always handle your potions conscientiously so that a potion load is not paid for directly by an attack by a monster. To do this, you should study the attack patterns of your opponents again. Only when you know that your opponent is taking a long break is it time to consume the potion.
- Always use the sighting function! This is essential for a fight, especially with multiple opponents. With this, you focus the camera on one of your enemies and follow it without having to adjust the camera yourself. This saves the attention you need for the fight.
- Never let enemies circle you. It's best to have each of your enemies in view and know what they're up to. First, focus on weaker enemies and work through them in order. It can also be handy to run behind an object and put some distance between the monsters and your character.
The best tips for beginners
Regardless of the gameplay, you make decisions about the direction in which your character should develop. Does he carry a huge sword or two little daggers? Does he focus on aggressive magic or does he only use passive spells. Depending on the choice you make, the game can be more difficult or easier. We'll show you how to get started in Lords of the Fallen.
- There are several control points in the form of a huge floating red crystal in each level. You can save the game here. Die, land at that point again. Your experience points are lost for the time being and all monsters are back, but you no longer have to start the level again. To regain your experience points, go to the place where you died. If you die on the way there again, you will lose your experience points permanently.
- Defeating an opponent or a monster increases the rate at which your experience points are multiplied. Every time you save at a checkpoint, this rate is reset to zero. If you are sure that you can still defeat the following monsters, you should wait to save them. Beginners are advised not to do so, however, because they lose more than they would like. Play it safe first, then venture out on this risky option.
- As a beginner in Lords of the Fallen, it is advisable to initially carry light weapons, such as one-handed swords, in combination with a shield. These have the lightest attack patterns and can be quickly internalized. You can also block various attacks with a shield, which is an essential element of the game. Heavy weapons, such as a war hammer, require a lot of practice because they attack much more slowly. An incorrectly targeted attack has worse consequences than that of a light sword.
- Even if it is tempting: At first, distribute your experience points to vitality only to a limited extent. You tend to build your character very stably so that it can take a lot of damage. Focus on endurance and strength, but you get more of it. Every block with the shield, every evasion and every attack tears at your endurance. As soon as you run out of stamina, you are exposed to your opponent. It should never come to that moment. It is therefore advisable to invest experience points in endurance, among other things. In Lords of the Fallen, dodging an attack is the highest level of things, because it consumes as little stamina as you can, and you can finally deal a few blows to your enemy.
