Link older programs with OneDrive
Windows 8 controls access to OneDrive via the corresponding app. Older programs that are only designed for desktop mode therefore have no access to them. You can neither retrieve files on the OneDrive nor store new data there. You can eliminate the problem with on-board equipment.
Configure OneDrive as a library
To set up OneDrive as a library:
- Open Windows Explorer and search for "OneDrive", which is often found under favorites.
- Now right-click on its entry and select the context command "Include in library"> "Create new library".
- That's all it was. In the future you can search in other programs, for example IrfanView, via the menu command "File"> "Open" in the libraries, where OneDrive is now also available. This also works analogously when saving.
How to create a backup of OneDrive can be read in the next practical tip.
