Physical changes: girls in puberty
When girls reach puberty, this entails many physical changes.
- On average, a girl reaches puberty between the ages of nine and twelve. If this begins before or after, one speaks of premature or delayed puberty. Then you should not be afraid to consult a doctor to find out the causes of this.
- Puberty begins with a change in hormones in the body. However, this initially goes unnoticed. Only with the visible, physical changes does a new section begin externally.
- The first step is breast growth. The body also begins to store fat on the buttocks, hips and thighs. This gives a somewhat more feminine silhouette.
- In the second step, body hair is added. Armpit and pubic hair grow very gradually. The sweat glands and thus the composition of the sweat change and your own body odor develops. Now, at the latest, increased showering or washing and the purchase of a deodorant are the order of the day.
- If all of these characteristics are fully developed, the last, often very significant step comes. Menstruation begins and therefore sexual maturity. Girls can now theoretically become pregnant, even if the bleeding is not yet quite regular.
Adolescent girls and their psyche
The psyche also reaches puberty, which unsettles children and parents alike.
- During this time, parents often complain that they no longer recognize their daughter. And the adolescent teenager often doesn't even know what's going on with him.
- Girls are now aware of their sexuality and fluctuate between being a child and wanting to be grown up. You are looking for a new identity, which can cause difficulties.
- Role models such as stars, influencers or models are now at the top of the popularity list and are replacing parents. Teenagers develop a natural sense of shame towards their parents and retreat more easily to exchange ideas with their best friend.
- From outbursts of anger to embarrassment, thanks to the changed hormone levels, everything in terms of emotions is there during this time. Parents cannot do more than show understanding and be there for the teen. The daughter is now cutting himself off and may be released a bit, even if it is not always easy.
