Connect Mac to the TV - Here's how
This guide shows you how to connect your Mac to the TV. This works both via cable and wireless ...
Connect Mac to TV - you need these things
Unfortunately, Apple didn't have an HDMI or VGA port in older Macs, so you can't connect the TV without accessories.
- To connect your TV to a Mac, you need the so-called Mini DisplayPort to HDMI or RGB adapter. You can get it originally from Apple for around 35 euros, but at Amazon for around 20 euros.
- If you do not yet have a VGA or better HDMI cable, you still have to buy one. Pay attention to the connection of your TV.
- Newer MacBooks already have an HDMI connection. All you need for this is the HDMI cable that you connect between the MacBook and TV.
Overview: These devices require appropriate cables and adapters
Depending on the year your MacBook is released, you will need different cables and adapters. In the graphic from what-hdmi-kabel.de you get an overview of which device you can use which adapter for.
