Mac: Record audio and video with Quicktime - how it works
With MacOS, you can quickly record audio and video files with Quicktime. You can create a video of your current screen content or your webcam. We'll show you how it works.
Mac: Start video and audio recording with Quicktime
- First open the player "Quicktime". By default, this is installed on your Mac. Please note: If you open the player without selecting a file, no window will open. Simply click on the Quicktime icon in your dock at the bottom of the screen to switch to the program.
- Now click on "File" in the menu bar and choose whether you want to start an audio, video or screen recording.
- You can then make some settings and start the recording by clicking on the record symbol.
- To stop recording, click the same icon again. This can be found in the menu bar when recording a screen.
- You can then listen to or view the recording and also save it.
