Let Mac boot up automatically - how it works
You can have your Mac boot up automatically at certain times. This is useful for a backup or if you want to control your Mac remotely. You can also shut it down according to a schedule.
Automatically boot Mac on schedule
Your Mac has a built-in feature that can boot it up at certain times. To switch this on, proceed as follows.
- Start the control panel and select "Save energy".
- Click on the "Schedule" item in the lower right corner.
- Set your schedule here (see picture). You can set days of the week and times for startup and shutdown.
- Now confirm the settings and you have set the schedule for automatic shutdown and / or startup.
- Note that the Mac must be connected to a power supply in order for it to start up.
If you are bothered by the start tone of your Mac, you can turn it off. We show you how to switch off the start sound.
