Mac: screen flickers - what to do?
If your Mac screen flickers, there can be several reasons. In this practical tip, we will tell you what you can do.
Screen flickers on Mac - you can do that
- First check all cable connections from or to the monitor whether they are correctly connected and are still intact. Test the cables to make sure they work.
- The brightness and color of the monitor may not be uniform. Older devices can take up to 30 minutes to warm up completely. You can adjust the brightness and color settings in the system settings under "Monitors"> "Monitor" and then "Colors".
- A hardware defect can also be the cause of the problem. Some devices are even affected by the factory. In this case, you must contact an Apple dealer or support so that the defective component can be replaced.
- Try resetting the resolution. To do this, start your Mac in safe mode by holding down the [Shift] key immediately after pressing the Start key. Then switch to the system settings and finally "Monitors". Select the resolution and the repetition rate that are supported by your monitor (you will find these in the operating instructions). Then restart the Mac.
- Check for an update for display or graphics card drivers. To do this, go to the manufacturer's website for more information.
