Mac: Activate F keys - how it works
This practical tip shows you how to activate the F keys on your Mac.
Activate F keys on Mac OS X.
By default, instead of the function keys, the keys that control the brightness and volume are activated. How to switch:
- Open the system settings by clicking on the Apple icon in the top menu bar and selecting "System Settings ...".
- Decide on the "Keyboard" menu.
- Check "Use F1, F2, etc. as standard function keys".
- If you now want to adjust the screen brightness, press the [Fn] key at the same time as the corresponding F key.
