Mac: Family Sharing doesn't work - you can do that
Apple Family Sharing lets you share network content with friends or family. If this does not work, various causes can be responsible. Find out in this practical tip what you can do about it.
Family sharing on Mac doesn't work - you can
- First, make sure family sharing is set up. On Mac, go to System Preferences> iCloud> Manage Family to check.
- For family sharing to work, you must have the same region set on all devices. On Mac, open iTunes and choose Account> Sign In, and then log in. Then click on "Account"> "Show account"> "Account data". You can manage your region there.
- On the iPhone or iPad, go to "Settings"> "iTunes & App Store". Tap on your Apple ID there and select "Show Apple ID". You can then manage the region under "Country / Region".
- You must also use the same Apple ID for family sharing on every device.
- Make sure "Share my purchases" is checked. You can find this on Mac under "Manage family" or on iOS under "iCloud"> "Family".
- In some cases, it can help if you sign out of iTunes on the devices and sign in again with your Apple ID.
