Mac: Magic Mouse loses connection - what to do?
The Magic Mouse establishes a connection to the MacBook or iMac via Bluetooth. If you lose this communication temporarily or permanently, find out in this practical tip how you can get the Magic Mouse to communicate with your Apple device again.
Magic Mouse loses connection to Mac: causes and solutions
The most common reason why the Magic Mouse no longer sends a signal is because of empty batteries. Your computer usually notifies you of the status. Replace the AA batteries to check if the supply is bad. Alternatively, we will show you how to display the battery status of the Magic Mouse on Mac.
- Make sure the Magic Mouse is turned on and Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac.
- If possible, connect the Magic Mouse to another Mac. If it works properly there, the Bluetooth interface on your Mac may be defective.
- Turn the mouse off and on again while the Mac is running. Then set them up again.
- If the Magic Mouse loses connection after strong vibrations, this is often due to the design of the mouse and the loose contact of the batteries. Place a piece of cardboard between the batteries and cover to stabilize them. This means that the batteries no longer lose contact for a short time and the connection is maintained.
