Mac OS: Send files with AirDrop
With Mac OS, you can easily send files with AirDrop. Our instructions show the individual steps.
Mac OS: Activate AirDrop
To use Airdrop, you need at least OS X Lion. From 2010 at the latest, all Apple computers support the AirDrop function. If you don't find the function on the left in the Finder, you must first activate AirDrop:
- Open the Finder and select "Settings" in the menu bar under "Finder".
- Go to the "Sidebar" category and activate "AirDrop" there.
Mac OS: Send files with AirDrop
To transfer files to another Mac, both devices must be on the same WiFi network.
- Open the Finder on both computers and switch to the category "AirDrop" on the left. Here you can see the profile picture of the other user.
- To send a file, simply drag it into the Finder window. Alternatively, you can open a folder in the Finder and select the "AirDrop" option using the send icon.
- Once you have selected a file, confirm the query that appears with the "Send" button. The "Save" and "Save and Open" options appear on the other computer.
