Mac OS: Delete duplicates in the address book
Duplicates in the address book under Mac OS occur very quickly. In order to have a clear address book, you should delete it regularly. We show you how this works in this guide.
Delete duplicates in the address book on Mac OS
- Open the Contacts app, which stores the addresses on your Mac.
- Click on the "Business card" tab.
- When you click on the "Search for duplicates" function, a window opens and the Mac indicates with a loading bar that it is looking for duplicate entries.
- When finished, your Mac will show you how many duplicate business cards or entries it has found. You can then merge the business cards.
- Note: Unfortunately, there is no way to display the duplicate entries and business cards before merging them in the address book.
