Mac OS: Take a photo with a webcam - how it works
A photo with the integrated iSight webcam of your Mac can of course be taken with on-board equipment. We show you the individual steps in our instructions.
Mac: take photos with the webcam - the steps
With the pre-installed program "Photo Booth" you have your own photo box for the webcam with many different effects and backgrounds on the Mac.
- Open "Photo Booth".
- Make sure that the single image icon is selected on the left. You will find this in the middle. The left icon takes 4 pictures in a row and the right icon starts the video mode.
- With the effects palette you can spice up your photo or video. To do this, click on "Effects" and choose your favorite effect.
- You start a photo with the big red button in the middle. After the 3 second countdown, the photo is taken.
There are more inconspicuous methods than sticking a patch or PostIt over the camera when you want it to be off. We'll show you which ones in the next practical tip.
