Mac OS: change Safari theme - does it work?
If you find the standard design of the Mac OS browser Safari too boring, you can change the display slightly. We'll show you how.
Change Safari design using a plugin - how it works
There are no real themes for Safari. However, you can tune the browser a little with Thrid Party plugins.
- Download the SafariStand plugin. After installation, the menu item "Stand" appears in the Safari menu bar. In the "General" settings you will find the "Remove Metal Textures" option at the bottom right. Here you can change the appearance of the tabs.
- You can use the SafariMasks software to change the color scheme of the navigation elements. After installation, the program starts automatically. You can select the desired color from a pull-down menu.
Change Safari look without plugin
Mac OS has a hidden feature that allows you to invert the screen. Of course, this also works for Safari.
- Call up the system settings and click on "Keyboard".
- In the "Keyboard shortcuts" area, under "Accessibility", check "Reverse colors".
- Use the keyboard combination [CTRL] + [ALT] + [CMD] + [8] to invert the colors on the screen. Pressing the same key combination switches back to the normal color scheme.
