Mac OS: Change the default search engine in Safari
This guide shows you how to change the default search engine for the Safari browser on your Mac. For example, instead of Google, you can set up the DuckDuckGo service as the standard search engine for the search bar.
Change Safari search engine: Google, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo or Bing
- Open the Safari browser and go to "Settings" in the menu bar via "Safari".
- Select the "Search" tab and click on the drop-down menu next to "Search engine:".
- You probably currently have Google here. Instead, choose Yahoo, Bing, or DuckDuckGo.
