Mac OS: Set up VPN - how it works
This guide shows you how to set up a VPN under Mac OS.
Set up VPN on Mac OS
Before you start with the setup, you should get all the necessary access data for the VPN. In addition to the account name, password and server address, this also includes the VPN type.
- Click on the apple in the menu bar at the top left and open the system settings.
- Select the item "Network" in the third line.
- Now click on the plus icon in the list on the left. If this is not possible, you must first unlock the settings. Simply click on the lock in the lower left corner of the window.
- In the next window, select the "VPN" connection and then the desired VPN type.
- Give the connection any name and select "Create".
- Now enter the server address, account name and password depending on the VPN type.
- With some VPN connections, you must also click "Authentication settings" and enter another password or a security key or certificate.
- You can then click "Apply" in the right corner of the window and connect to the VPN.
