You cut files differently under Mac OS X than under Windows: In contrast to the Microsoft operating system, the key combination [Cmd] + [X] does not work here. Instead, do the following to move a file:
- In the Finder or on the desktop, navigate to the file you want to move.
- Click on it with a mouse click and press [Cmd] + [C].
- Now go to the target folder where the file should be located in the future.
- You paste the file into Mac OS X by choosing [Cmd] + [Alt] + [V].
