Mac OS X El Capitan: Mute Safari tabs
The option to mute tabs as desired is a practical feature in the new Safari. The problem of suddenly playing sound when surfing in an inactive tab is thus gone.
Mute tabs with new Safari feature in El Capitan
Mac OS X has given the Apple Browser Safari a practical feature. You can now mute one or more tabs in the address bar.
- You will now find a small loudspeaker symbol in the address line or the search field. If you click on it, a context field opens.
- Here you can now decide whether you want to mute all tabs or just individual ones.
- Under "Mute All Tabs" a list is shown with all tabs that play sound. Select individual ones to mute them.
If you don't have the new Mac OS X on your computer yet, read our instructions for installing El Capitan.
