A so-called clean install of Mac OS X has many decisive advantages and can be carried out quickly. In this practical tip, we will show you exactly how this works.
Clean Install on Apple Mac OS X: how it works
- First you need a USB stick with at least 8GB free space. Connect this to the Mac.
- Then download and install the free DiskMaker X tool.
- Open the tool after the installation is successfully completed.
- In the first step you have to choose which operating system you want to install. Click on the respective button.
- Confirm this in the next step and select the USB stick. You can then name this.
- After the operating system has been installed on the USB stick, you have to restart the Mac.
- During the boot process, press the [Alt] key to select the boot medium. Then select the USB stick there and start the Clean Install. Then follow the further instructions.
