Mac OS X: Show drives on the desktop
If you want to display your drives on the Max desk, you have to do it yourself first. In newer Mac OS X versions, the hard drive and drives are no longer automatically displayed on the desktop.
View drives on the Mac desktop
If you want to keep an eye on the activities on your drives, simply add them to your desk in just a few steps.
- To do this, first select the Finder icon in the Dock.
- In the menu bar under "Finder" you then choose "Settings".
- Then click on "General" and in the sub-area "Show these objects on the desktop" you can finally select which drives and hard disks will be displayed on your Mac desktop in the future.
Not only can you display the drive and hard drive, you can also hide files and folders on the desktop. We also explain how to arrange the desktop icons automatically and access the desk using a shortcut.
