Mac OS X: PDF out of focus - what to do?
If a PDF appears blurred in the preview under Mac OS X, this is mostly due to the automatic font smoothing. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
PDF files are blurred on Mac OS X.
- Click on the Apple icon in the top left of the menu bar and select the "System Preferences" item.
- Click on the "General" category and look for the "Use LCD font smoothing when available" option.
- Deactivate the option. The font is then no longer automatically smoothed and remains sharp.
- Note: As an alternative to these instructions, you can also switch to other software such as Adobe Reader.
