Mac OS X: Open programs from non-verified developers
If you don't just want to install programs from verified developers on Mac OS X, you will initially face a small hurdle. Apple is pursuing the strategy of installing all important programs from the App Store and thus from verified developers. The manufacturer also avoids the risk that defective software will be installed on their devices. To use other applications on your Mac, you just need to follow our short guide.
How to install programs from non-verified developers
- Click the Apple icon in the top left corner and select the "System Preferences" entry.
- Select the icon labeled "Security".
- Under the "General" tab, you first have to open the lock at the bottom left - enter your password.
- Then you can select the entry "No restrictions" - as shown in the picture.
- Block your settings again by clicking on the lock.
