Mac OS X: Deactivate hibernation - how it works
On Mac OS X, you can turn off hibernation at any time. In this way, you can continue working on your computer undisturbed, even if you do not enter any commands for a certain time.

Deactivate hibernation mode under OS X Yosemite in the settings. So your Mac will no longer shut down after a certain amount of time.
- Start the system settings in your dock or via shortcut.
- Now select the "Save energy" item.
- Then move the slider to the right of "Never" next to "Computer sleep":
- If you do not want the monitor to go to sleep either, move the control to the right of "Never" next to "Sleep for monitor".
Deactivate hard disk in idle state
In the same menu you will find additional options in addition to the respective sliders. For example, you can (if possible) enable hibernation for hard drives. In addition, you can quit the hibernation when accessing WiFi network or activate the "Power Nap" function with a connected power supply.
