The integrated overview for special characters can be shown at any time. The desired special character is then copied into the active input field.
- Open the system settings in your dock.
- Select the "Keyboard" item.
- Place a checkmark under the item "Show keyboard and character overviews in the menu bar".
- You can now click on a keyboard symbol next to the battery indicator when entering text in the top menu bar.
- The "Show character overview" option appears here (see image). Now you can see various punctuation marks, currency and symbols.
- If a text field is now active, the desired symbol is inserted by double-clicking.
