Mac OS X: Change language - how it works
If you have selected the wrong language under Mac OS X, you can still change it later. The following instructions show you how to do this.
How to change language on Mac OS X.
- Click on the Apple icon in the status bar and select "System Preferences ...".
- Then go to "Language & Region" in the top bar.
- Select the plus under "Preferred languages" and select the new language from the menu.
- You will now be asked if you want to use the language as the primary language. You have to confirm this.
- Close System Preferences and restart your Mac for changes to take effect.
The instructions refer to Mac OS X 10.9.3, other versions may differ. If you want to set your Mac completely to a new language, you should also change the keyboard layout.
