Mac OS X: Change the default browser
In Mac OS X, you are not bound to the Safari browser. We show you how you can change the standard program.

In OS X Mavericks you can also replace the Safari browser with Firefox, Chrome or another browser:
- First install the desired browser and then start Safari.
- Open the settings here with the key combination [CMD] + [, ] and switch to the "General" tab.
- You can then select the desired tool under "Standard web browser".
- Caution: You can only change the standard browser in this way. You should therefore not uninstall the Safari browser even if you no longer use it.
