Have texts and emails read aloud on Mac
How to activate the reading function in Mail:
- Start "Mail" in your dock.
- Select any email and open it.
- Then click on "Edit" in the system bar at the top and here on "Narrator". Under this point, select "Start voice output".
- If only a certain text area is to be read out, select it and then click again on "Edit"> "Narrator"> "Start Narrator".
- To stop Narrator, click Edit> Narrator> Stop Narrator.
Switch voice mail for Mac to German
To activate a German voice, start the system settings:
- Select "Dictation & Language" and click on the "Speech" tab.
- Click the drop-down menu next to "System Voice" and select "Customize ...". Under the heading "German" you can now choose to download a German voice.
- After the download, the German voice appears under "System voice".
