Mac OS X Yosemite: Activate dark mode
In the new Mac OS X Yosemite it is possible to activate the dark mode and thus darken the design of your Mac. We show you how it works.
How to activate dark mode in OS X Yosemite
With the dark mode in OS X Yosemite, system elements such as program bars and dock are colored in a transparent black. While the dark mode in the second version could only be activated via a terminal command, you can now change the design more conveniently.
- To do this, open the system settings of your Mac.
- Select the "General" menu item.
- Place a checkmark next to "Use dark menu bar and dock". This activates or deactivates the dark mode.
