Mac OS X Yosemite: Disable Notification Center
In Mac OS X Yosemite, you can disable the notification center. In this practical tip, we explain how to make the setting.
Disable Notification Center on Mac
In total, you can deactivate the notification center in three different ways: either switch off all applications in the notification center or set the "do not disturb" function almost all day. Alternatively, you can deactivate the message center via the terminal.
- To prevent you from receiving messages from apps, click on the apple icon in the menu bar and select "System Settings". Go to "Notifications" there.
- Now select an application in the left display and delete the checkmark in the "In message center" in the right display. You perform this action with all the applications listed.
- Alternatively, you can activate the "Do not disturb" function in the same place. Click on "Do Not Disturb" at the top of the left-hand display and tick "Activate" Do Not Disturb "on the right.
- Select a range of 23 hours and 59 minutes, so enter "From:" for example, "02:23". Under "to:" you then choose "02:22"
