The "Rootpipe" vulnerability gives hackers unrestricted access to your system.
- A patch from Apple is no longer expected this year. It is therefore to be seen when Apple decides to publish a solution to the problem.
- The vulnerability is said to have existed since OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
- At the beginning of 2015, security expert Emil Kvarnhammar plans to release more information about the vulnerability.
You can do that against "root pipe"
Emil Kvarnhammar discovered the vulnerability and recommended some tips for the security problem.
- Kvarnhammer recommends using a user account without any administrator rights.
- You can create a new user account by clicking on "System Settings"> "Users and Groups".
- Press the lock symbol here and enter your administrator password.
- Next, you need to click the plus icon to create a new user.
- Also enable FileVault under System Preferences> Security> FileVault. A virus scanner can also provide more security.
