MacOS: Forgot password - you can do that
To reset your password under Mac OS, you need an administrator account on your Mac, of which you still know the password.
- Log in with the administrator account.
- Enter "Users & Groups" in your Mac's spotlight search.
- Click the lock in the lower left corner of the window to allow changes to your Mac. Enter your administrator password in the window that opens.
- Now you can select the blocked user and press "Change password".
- Enter a new password in the following window and confirm it. Now the password has been changed.
- Note: Please only use this procedure for your own account and never for someone else's.
