Mac: Merge PDF - how it works
If you want to combine a PDF from several files on your Mac, you do not need any additional software. With the preview function it works quickly and smoothly. In this practical tip, we show you how to do it for macOS High Sierra.
Merge multiple PDF files: macOS 10.14.3 (High Sierra)
At the beginning, set that the PDF files are opened via "Preview (standard)". To do this, right-click (secondary click) the PDF file. Select "Information" There you set "Preview with" under "Open with". Then go to "Change All".
- Mark the PDF files you want to merge and open them with a double click.
- Go to "View" in the menu bar and click on the "Miniatures" option. On the left side you can see the documents in the preview.
- In the thumbnails, select the pages you want to drag to the other PDF file. Hold down the selection and drag it into the thumbnails of the other PDF file.
- The PDF file is saved automatically. The file name of the unmarked PDF is retained.
