Mac: program does not respond - you can do that
Even with the Mac, it can happen that a program stops responding. In this guide, we explain what you can do in this case.
Mac: What to do if a program doesn't respond
If a program hangs on your Mac, that's not really a problem. You can easily force it to close.
- If a program is no longer running, you can try to close it using the dock. Tap the program icon while holding the [CTRL] key and select "End immediately".
- If the way via the dock does not work, navigate in the menu via the apple symbol to "Immediately exit". A window opens listing all active programs. Select the desired program and click on "End immediately".
- You can also access the function with the key combination [CMD] + [ALT] + [ESC].
- You can also force a restart in this window. Select "Finder" and click "Immediately quit and then click" Restart ".
