Mac: Always start programs in full screen mode - is that possible?
Under OS X, you can use Mac programs in full screen mode. By default, however, these still start in window mode. This practical tip shows you how to start programs automatically in full-screen mode.
Start programs in full screen mode
There is no function with which you can start all programs automatically in full-screen mode. With a little trick, however, you can always start applications that have been set to full screen mode again and again:
- Open the system settings and select the area "General". Here you will find an entry "Close window when closing a program". If the checkmark in front of it is active, deactivate it.
- Your Mac now remembers the latest status of open applications and restores them when you open the program again. This function is useful for browsers, for example, because it won't lose the tabs you opened last.
- It is also saved whether the program was running in full-screen mode. So if you close your programs in full-screen mode, they will be started the same way when you open them again.
