Mac Safari: pictures are not displayed - what to do?
If images do not appear in the Safari browser on Mac or MacBook, this can have different causes. We'll give you troubleshooting tips here.
Images are not displayed in Safari on Mac - this may be the reason
The following tips can help if the Safari browser on Mac stops displaying images:
- Try to reload the page by clicking the "Reload" symbol (alternatively F5). There may have been a problem with the images.
- As a test, you can also open another page to further narrow down the error. If you see the pictures there, it may be on the previous page.
- Perhaps the display of the images is deactivated in the settings. Open "Settings" at the top and then "Appearance" and make sure that the option "Show images as soon as the page opens" is activated.
- The developer settings can also be responsible. Select "Developer" above and make sure that the option "Deactivate images" is not activated.
- Make sure you have a constant internet connection. The images may not be loaded or displayed due to a slow connection.
- A plugin from Safari may also block the display of images. Deactivate all plugins and then restart the browser to test this.
- Your antivirus software may be blocking the images because they were mistakenly identified as viruses. For testing purposes, you should briefly switch off the program.
- If it is a picture from your homepage, make sure that the name of the picture does not contain any umlauts. Safari cannot process them and therefore the image is not displayed.
