There are many ways to take a photo of a still image from a video on your Mac and save it. We recommend the VLC Media Player for this, since you have probably already installed it.
Mac: Create a still image from video with VLC Media Player
With the VLC Media Player you can easily save a still image from the video as a photo. The function used for this is called "snapshot".
- Open the VLC media player and start the video from which the image should be saved.
- Navigate to the time at which you want to save the photo from the video and pause the video here.
- Now select the "Snapshot" function under "Video". Alternatively, you can also right-click on the picture and take the photo via "Video"> "Snapshot".
- VLC Media Player saves the snapshot in the pictures folder of your PC or Mac.
